Obituary


Hildegarde F. Brennan, a lifelong resident of Medford passed away peacefully with her family by her side at her home following a brief illness, February 9, 2019. She was 86 years of age. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward N. Brennan. Born in Woburn she was one of nine children of the late Leo and Lillian (Smith) McHugh.

"Queenie", as she was affectionately known to her family and friends, worked for many years as a bank teller and teller manager here in Medford prior to her retirement. However, her primary focus in life was her family and her faith. Nothing gave her more joy than to provide for her large and loving family. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her children and she always cherished and looked forward to spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she adored. In her leisure time she loved reading, working on puzzles, cross stitching and loved attending and watching a good movie motion picture.

In addition to her late husband and parents, Queenie is predeceased by her grandson, Greg Krasco, brother; Terry McHugh, sisters; Barbara Bradley, Josephine DiVincenzo, and Maryellen Geary.

She is survived by her eleven children; Doreen Grimm and her husband, Russell, MAJ., U.S. Army (Ret.) of Hampton, VA, Erin Krasco and her husband Peter of Medford, Kelly Krasco and her husband Tom of Medford, Robin Brennan of Medford, Jeanne Cronin and her husband Gary of Medford, LTC., U.S. Army (Ret.) Edward Brennan and his wife Alix of Leavenworth, KS, Michael Brennan and his wife Joanne of Fitchburg, Gary Brennan and his wife Lauria of Braintree, Terence Brennan and his wife Sheryl of Winchester, Stephen Brennan and his wife Mary of Medford, Robert Brennan and his wife Maureen of Enfield, CT. She was the loving grandmother of 36 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren whom she cherished and adored. Sister of Helen Hatch and her husband Deems, Leo McHugh and his wife Mary, Ruth Barros and her husband Dick, and Joan Martell.

Funeral services will be held from the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Thursday, February 14th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High St., Medford, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Dello Russo Funeral Home will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Queenie's memory to Hallmark Health VNA & Hospice, 178 Savin Street, Suite 300, Malden, MA 02148
