Rebecca A. Pina, 59, of New Bedford, passed away Friday February 1, 2019 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center after a brief illness.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Morris and Mary (Soares) Pina, she lived in New Bedford all of her life. She was a graduate of New Bedford High School.
Rebecca was formerly employed at UMass-Dartmouth in the financial services department.
Survivors include her children, Michael Duarte and Shauna Pina, both of Atlanta, GA; a sister, Delores "Dee Dee" Gonsalves of New Bedford; two grandchildren, Dajir Duarte and Jasiah Duarte; her nieces and nephews, Benjamin Rose III, Kevin Rose, Tracey Rose Mabrey, Marcel Gonsalves, Tyra White and Kendra Gonsalves; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was the sister of the late Morris Pina, Jr. and Barbara (Soares) Rose, and aunt of the late Wendy Rose.
Her Funeral will be held on Friday February 8, 2019 at 8 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM.
