Carole D. (Roderick) Clements, 79, of New Bedford passed away peacefully at home on Thursday January 31, 2019 after a brave battle with cancer. She was the loving wife of Jack Clements, with whom she shared 58 years of marriage.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Joseph and Clotilda (Reis) Roderick, she graduated from New Bedford High School and has maintained a close relationship with her alumni friends. She married Jack and after being home for 13 years raising five children, she started a banking career, and rose to manager of the West End branch of Bank of Boston. She was most respected for the time, kindness, and personal attention that she gave to her many customers and friends.
Family gatherings were most important to Carole, especially Christmas and Thanksgiving, where she made sure all family and friends were gathered together at our house. She enjoyed her solitary time with reading and crossword puzzles. She was an avid New England Patriots fan.
After retirement, she and Jack enjoyed eight years with old and new friends at the Great Outdoors in Titusville, Florida. They also enjoyed visiting her surviving brother, Raymond and his wife Diane in Ft. Myers, Florida.
Carole was predeceased by her sisters, Dolores Chaput and Nancy Wunschel. She is survived by loving husband Jack, and five children, John Clements III, Maureen Thomas and her husband Michael, Christopher Clements, Andrew Clements and his wife Linda, and Stephen Clements. She is grandmother to ten treasured grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Friday February 8, 2019 at 9 AM at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Calling hours are omitted and burial will be private.
