Obituary

Rudolph "Rudy" Andrade, 74, of New Bedford died Saturday, January 19, 2019 at home after a period of declining health.

Born in New Bedford, son of the late Napoleon Andrade and Louise A. (Ramos) Cruz, he lived in New Bedford and Florida for most of his life.

Rudy served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.

He graduated from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and from Palm Beach Community College with an Associate of Graphic Design degree and an Associate of Drafting and Design Technology degree.

Rudy was employed as a plumber for many years until his retirement.

He was a member of the Improved Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, William H. Carney Lodge in New Bedford.

Rudy enjoyed sports, watching football, talking about politics and current events, walking the beach and spending time with his dog. He also enjoyed painting and was a great artist.

He is survived by three children, Stacey Andrade, Robin Robinson, and Aaron Burr and his wife Androulla; two grandsons, Ezekiel Andrade and Christakis Burr; his granddaughter, Brianna Robinson; his great-grandson, Levi Robinson; and several nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Lois A. Taylor.

Burial of cremains with military honors will take place Monday, July 29, 2019 at 10:45AM at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. For online guestbook, visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
