Isidoro Sandler M.D. of Wilmington formerly of Latham, NY passed away peacefully January 14, 2019 at the Woodbriar of Wilmington Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a period of declining health. He was 84. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he was the son of the late Abraham and Esther (Socolovsky) Sandler.
Isidoro was raised and educated in Argentina attending university and Medical School there. He came to the United States as a young doctor and began his career as a Cardiologist. He worked for many years at the St. Mary Hospital of Troy, New York prior to his retirement in 2000. His greatest joy was his family and nothing made him happier than to be surrounded by his adored grandchildren and those he loved.
Isidoro is survived by his children; James Scott Sandler and his wife Kelly of California, Stephanie Mahoney and her husband Charles of Tewksbury, and Amy Tezak of New Jersey. He was the former husband of Suzanne (Williams) Sandler of Tewksbury and loving grandfather of Sophie, Rachel, Abby, Matthew and Mark. Brother of the late Berta and Elena. Also survived by two loving nieces.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to gather for calling hours Friday, January 18th, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 374 Main St., Wilmington.
