Elsie M. (Burden) Halwix 86 of Bridgewater, passed away peacefully on Sunday December 9th. She was the beloved wife of the late Alfred Halwix.
Elsie was born in Cambridge, daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (McNeil) Burden.
She met her future husband Alfred at a U.S.O. dance and they married for 61 wonderful years and had 6 children.
Elsie worked for the Y.M.C. A. in Quincy for many years before retiring.
She enjoyed arts and crafts, decorating many birthday cards and puzzles. She especially loved the beach and the water. Elsie enjoyed going on many vacations with her husband Fred, also loved gardening in the summer and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Elsie and Fred really enjoyed ballroom dancing for many years.
She leaves behind her loving family, Sharon and Thomas O’Connell of Whitman, Bryan Halwix and Jane Shaw of ME, Ross Halwix of Quincy, Linda and Alfred DelVecchio of Rockland, Eric Halwix of FL and the late Mark Halwix,also many grandchildren, great grandchildren, her sisters, Clara Kenney, Isabella Banks, Elizabeth McGowan and her brother John Burden, many nieces and nephews.
At the request of the family all services will be private.
