Felton Ring, 68, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Saturday, January 12, 2019, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla, Georgia, with the Rev. Dewain Joiner and the Rev. Josh Bowles officiating. Interment will follow in the Irwinville Cemetery, in Irwin County. The family will receive friends Friday evening, from 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mr. Ring was born August 2, 1950, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late Edward Eugene & Audrey Bernice Register Ring. He lived in the community all of his life and was a 1969 graduate of Fitzgerald High School. Mr. Ring was a mechanic for Shaw Industries and a janitor for Dorminy Medical Center. He enjoyed fishing and riding backroads. He loved to watch his children ride dirt bikes and go carts. Mr. Ring was a member of the Ocilla Church of God and attended the Fitzgerald Church of God.
He is survived by his children: Jeffery Tison of Jacksonville, Florida, Tonya Blanchett & Joel of Alapaha, Timothy James Ring & Kristina of Ocilla and John Michael Ring of Ocilla; grandchildren: Jacob Tison, Rebekah Edwards, Abigail Blanchett, James Ring and Jaylyn Ring; a sister, Vivian Rathburn & Johnny of Abbeville and his step-mother, Laverne Ring of Fitzgerald. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Ring Stringer and a brother, Robert Daniel Ring.
