Bridgewater- Our Family is saddened to announce that Harold F. Williams, Jr. passed away on December 23rd after a long battle with cancer. He was the cherished husband of 63 years to Sally (Smith) Williams.
Harold was born in Boston on August 3, 1933, spent his growing up years in Squantum, graduated from North Quincy High School and North Eastern University.
During the Korean War, he served in the United States Navy. In 1956 he got married to Sally, the love of his life.
During his working years he lived in Quincy, Avon and Abington, where he was employed as a structural engineer for several small consulting engineering firms. In 1995 they moved to Falmouth, where they spent twenty happy years and then into a retirement community in Bridgewater.
His love was time spent with his family, playing golf, cards, gardening and traveling extensively with his wife.
Besides his wife Sally, he was the dedicated father to his son Bob Williams his daughters, Kathy Williams, Marcia Holland and Diane Nicholson, who all live locally with their wonderful spouses; also his two brothers, Bob and Phil, his sister Phyllis, nieces and nephews, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and many friends. He will be greatly missed by all.
His funeral service will be held on Saturday December 29th at 11:00AM in the Union Congregational Church, 105 Pleasant St, East Bridgewater, MA 02333. Visitation has been omitted at his request.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
