WEISS John “Jack” J. Sr. of Norwood formerly of Jamaica Plain passed away on December 14, 2018 after a brief illness. Son of the late Dr. Peter Weiss and Mary (Anderson) Weiss. Beloved husband of Anne M. (Norton) Weiss for 57 years. Devoted father of John J. Weiss Jr. of Norwood and Thomas P. Weiss and his wife Debora of Norton. Loving grandfather of Christian J. Riley and Chad I. Riley. Brother of Peter F. Weiss Jr. of Norwood and the late Mary Elizabeth Weiss and Janet FitzGerald. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Graduate of Mission Church High School. Retired Manager after 40 years for Verizon Telephone Company. Member of the Local IBEW, Boston and the Telephone Pioneers of America. Longtime parishioner and usher of St. Catherine’s Church, Norwood.
Visiting hours at the P.E. Murray - F.J. Higgins, George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home 2000 Centre St. WEST ROXBURY on Tuesday, Dec. 18th from 4-8pm. Funeral from the funeral home on Wednesday, Dec. 19th at 10am, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Catherine’s Church, Norwood at 11am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment private.
