Obituary

Pierre C. Seguin, 76, of New Bedford passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 9, 2018 in Dallas, Texas enjoying a boys' weekend with his son.
He was born in Fall River, Massachusetts, however, lived all his life in New Bedford. He was the son of the late Normand and Jeannette (Boule) Seguin. He was a graduate of New Bedford High School and attended Wentworth Institute and Boston Architectural Center. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard and while stationed in Boston met his future wife. After their wedding and his completion of service with the Coast Guard, he and his wife returned to New Bedford to begin their new life and start a family.
Pierre worked for his father’s electrical company, Seguin & Caron Electric for seven years before he purchased the company from his father. He was still presently running the business with his son as Seguin Electric.
His favorite pastimes were sailing, woodworking, photography, pool days sitting under his pavilion, Seguin Family cottage time, listening to his music, breakfast time with Jeff at Mac’s Soda Bar, Sunday breakfast after church with his family and spending as much time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Jean (Twomey) Seguin; four daughters, Laura Rapoza and her husband Kenneth of New Bedford, Danielle Tremblay and her husband Scott of Fairhaven, Michelle Gomes and her husband Frank of Dartmouth, Christine Greany and her husband Stephen of New Bedford; one son, Timothy Seguin and his wife Julie of Dartmouth; twelve grandchildren, Alexandra, Zachary, Michael and fiancée Nicole, Joseph and fiancée Hannah, Abigail, Hannah, Timothy, Andrew, Aiden, Kathryn, Emma and Isabelle; two great-grandchildren, Joseph and Ashton; his siblings, Roland Seguin, Jean Seguin, Margot Burt, Jeanne Mendes, and Monique Ward, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Paul Seguin and Anne Marie Terceira.
His big generous heart, strong morals, unwavering faith and light hearted but sometimes stern personality will be remembered by all who loved him…
We will miss you.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday December 17, 2018 at 11 AM at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 121 Mt. Pleasant St., New Bedford. Burial will be private. Visiting hours will be on Sunday December 16, 2018 from 1-5 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
