Obituary

Patrick T. Cawley, 55, of Londonderry, NH, peacefully died at home on Sunday December 9, 2018 after a courageous five-year battle with cancer. Throughout the last five years, his mantra was “I’ll keep fighting the fight.” He was born in Boston, MA on November 19, 1963, son of Mary (Harrington) Cawley and the late John “Jack” Cawley. Patrick attended Catholic Memorial, U Mass Lowell and the Peterson School. Patrick loved the 30 years he worked in the Plumbing shop of the Building and Grounds Department in Massachusetts General Hospital. He was engaged in the inspection and maintenance of hospital equipment specializing in autoclaves and sterilizers and was also part of the Emergency Response Team with HAZMAT. His strong computer skills allowed him to build an Operations Manual with valve charting which will serve as a valuable resource in the years to come. He was loved by many and was known as the “go to” person who was always willing to help anyone with any problem they might have. His family and friends will remember him for his “easy going nature” and his great “sense of humor”. He will be missed by many.

In addition to his mother, Patrick is survived by Karen, his beloved wife of 20 years; two sisters, Ann Gavin and Mary Theresa Cawley, along with several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, in-laws, and a host of longtime friends.

Funeral services were held on Saturday December 15, 2018 at 1:00pm in St. Jude Parish, 435 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A private burial will be held at a later date in Holy Cross Cemetery in Londonderry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
