Obituary

Roger Robert Bastien, 64, of Read Avenue, Coventry, went to be in Our Master’s Meadow on Saturday, November 10, 2018 with his wife by his side at Berkshire Place in Providence.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Wilfred L and Beatrice I. (Russell) Bastien. He had lived in Coventry for most of his life.
Roger had worked at Point Judith Lobster for many years as well as Newpro Windows as their show manager before retiring due to a long and painful health crisis.
Roger loved to scuba dive and often dove with his friend Kevin Bates. He travelled to dive in Jamaica, Puerta Vallarta, Mexico and Cozumel, most especially, Key West. Every Christmas Eve he could be found off Castle Hill in Newport diving for his Christmas Meal - lobsters.
He enjoyed Hot Air Ballooning in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He helped RE/Max set up their balloons all over New England. He enjoyed target shooting with the Tarbox family and his brother in law, Edward Lesneski.
He was a 1972 graduate of Coventry High School, a graduate of Community College of Rhode island and earned a degree in Communication and Instructional Technology from Rhode Island College.
He was a good and generous man and a loving husband to his wife, Cynthia (Lesneski) Bastien. They had been married for 44 years. He was predeceased by his brother Robert W. Bastien.
He was the uncle of Eric and his wife, Allison and great uncle of Blake, Mason and Victor. He was the uncle of two amazing nieces: Aurora Leigh and Janna Marie Bastien. He also leaves his sister in law, Reida Jane Bastien. He will be dearly missed by Kermit and Ho-Jo, as well.
Committal services are Sunday, December 2nd at 2pm at 911 Crandall Road, Tiverton.
