Obituary

Cornelius J. “Pete” Kelly, 95, husband of the late Caroline (Johnson) Kelly passed away at Marian Manor on November 12, 2018. Cornelius, a lifelong Taunton resident, was the son of Cornelius J. and Annie (Dugan) Kelly. A veteran of WWII, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Pete was a University of Lowell graduate attaining degrees in civil engineering and land surveying. He was formerly employed as a chief engineer for the Massachusetts DPW. He was proud of his Irish lineage and was a big fan of Notre Dame Football. A communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church, he was a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society. He was the father of the late Cornelius “Neil” Kelly. He leaves behind his three grandchildren, Patrick Kelly and his wife Meredith, Sarah Kelly and Elizabeth Thompson and her husband David; a great grandson, Benjamin Kelly, his daughter-in-law Susan Kelly and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Helen Corr, Priscilla Hayes, John Kelly and Charles Kelly. Arrangements are under the care of the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home in Taunton. Burial will be in the family lot in St. Joseph’s Cemetery and his services are private at the request of the family.
