Obituary

CHICOPEE ~ Robert D. “Bob” Yergeau, 82, of Chicopee, passed into Eternal Life on Wednesday, November 7, 2018. He was born and raised in Springfield, a beloved son of the late Henry D. and Laura (Dennault) Yergeau and graduated from Cathedral High School. He served his country in the Army as a Military Policeman. He lived in Monson until 1986 when he built his own home in Chicopee and lived there until his passing. Bob worked as a general contractor for 45 years building hundreds of homes in the Springfield area and was proud to have built his son’s home in 2002. Best known for his sense of humor, he enjoyed tennis and golf, all of his New England sports teams, visiting the horse and dog tracks and his many weekend golf trips with the “Jimmys”. He was predeceased by his first wife Martha J. (Senf) Yergeau; and the love of his life and second wife Margaret S. (Smith) Yergeau. He leaves his loving son and daughter-in-law Chad G. and Juli Yergeau of Monson; his brother Henry Yergeau and his wife, Dolores, of Springfield; his sister Dorothy of California; and many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. He will also be deeply missed by his best friend Claude and his wife, Claire. His family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. followed by a Prayer Service at 6 p.m. at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The funeral home parking lot and main entrance are located at the rear at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His burial will be private at the convenience of his family.
