Obituary

Beverly R. (O'Brien) Newton of Dedham, formerly of Hyde Park, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning November 1, 2018, with her loving family by her side at Traditions of Dedham at the age of 82. Born on October 9, 1936 in Boston, daughter of the late John & Abbey (Wood) O'Brien, Beverly was raised in the Dorchester and Hyde Park sections of Boston. She raised her family and lived for most of her life in Dedham and spent the summers at Plum Island and Cape Cod. Beverly attended Hyde Park High School and had been employed for a period of time at the Keystone Corporation in Dorchester and Filene's Basement Department Store. She was a devoted & loving homemaker to her husband and children throughout her life. Beloved wife of the late Robert F. Newton; she is survived by her devoted & loving children Susan L. Nee (Robert) of E. Sandwich; Kenneth Newton (Karen) of Mashpee; Lisa A. Hargreaves (Paul) of Byfield; Kathleen G. Bombara (David) of Dedham; and John M. Newton of Rochester. Dear sister of Louise Panton of Marston Mills and Abbie O'Neil of Texas. In addition, she is survived by 10 cherished grandchildren, adoring great granddaughter, and many nieces & nephews.
A Funeral Service in celebration of Beverly's life will be held in the Pushard Family Funeral Home, 210 Sherman St., Canton, on Monday at 12:00 p.m. Visiting Hours will be held prior to the service from 10-12pm. Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Beverly’s name to the Alzheimer’s Assoc., 309 Waverley Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452 or to the Christ Church, 1220 River St., Hyde Park, MA 02136.
