Shirley Francis Russo, 86, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2018, at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Shirley was born in Whitman, Massachusetts to the late Gladys (Gummo) Russo and Nicholas Russo.
Shirley was a veteran of the U.S. Army who served in the Korean War. He returned home and began a career as a machinist and subsequently started his own business “S & R Tool and Die” in Hanson, Massachusetts. Shirley’s business became his life long career for over 60 years.
Beloved husband to Janice Annette (Closson) Russo and devoted father to Nicholas, Dana (wife Karen), Steven (wife Lenette), Sharon Holland (husband Rick), Lori Rasmussen (husband Peter), Karen Russo, and Sean MacKenzie. He was a loving grandfather of 19 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Beloved brother to the late William Russo and survived by June (Russo) Sampson.
Family and friends will gather for a celebration of life on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at two o’clock in the afternoon at the First Congregational Church, 639 High Street, Hanson, Massachusetts.
