Obituary

KINLIN, John F. “Jack” of Winthrop, passed away on October 18, 2018. He was 86 years old. He was the beloved companion and longtime friend of Jean Wood of Johnstown, PA. Born in Dorchester, he was the son of the late Lester Gionet and Marjorie (Rhynew) Kinlin. Father of John, Bob and Kenny Kinlin and Susan Bianci all of MA and Rick and Ron Kinlin both of WA, step-father of Bob and Deborah Borowski, Pam Fields and Kim Hurn all of CA and grandfather of numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Mary Wood of Winthrop and the late Harold Hart. Uncle of Mark Wood of Winthrop and nieces Karin Wilcox of NH and Marge Dunnell of FL. Funeral from the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home 210 Winthrop St, Winthrop, on Friday, October 26 at 9am. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. John the Evangelist Church-Winthrop at 10am. Relatives and friends are invited. Interment will follow in Winthrop Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8pm. Jack was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was a “turn of the century” Past Exalted Ruler and Honorary Life Member of the Winthrop Lodge of Elks #1078. Prior to his retirement, Jack worked in law enforcement for the Sheriff’s Dept. in San Diego, CA and was also a paramedic in their Search and Rescue division for the Sheriff’s Dept.
