Edward F “Ted” Kerrissey 75 of Fiskdale and formerly of Natick died unexpectedly on Wednesday October 17 at the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe VT.
He was the beloved husband of Susan E (DeMelle) Kerrissey sharing 49 years of marriage.
Born in Natick and a resident for 65, years he was the son of the late Frederick and Louise (Casavant) Kerrissey.
Mr. Kerrissey was a dedicated Police Officer for the Town of Natick for 40 years retiring in 2008.He also served as the Prosecutor for the Natick Police.
Ted was an active member of numerous civic organizations including; The Natick Boy Scouts Troop 1775, Natick Service Council, The Natick Elks, and the Rizzo Foundation. He became a member of the Sturbridge police and fire Departments Community Emergency Response Team and was a Trustee at Crescent Gate. He was a devout Catholic and an usher at St Patrick's Church in Natick for many years and at his new Parish St Joseph's in Charlton.
Ted loved to travel, enjoyed sports and was a lifelong fan of the Red Sox, Patriots, NASCAR, and Boston College.
Mr. Kerrissey was a proud Veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam era and was a graduate of Northeastern University.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter, Tamara Zimmer and her husband, Daniel, of Thompson CT, son Ryan Kerrissey and his wife Colleen of Sturbridge, and grandchildren Aidan, Madi, Connor, and Jerry. He is also survived by his sister Kathleen Harpin and her husband John of Sebring FL, brother in-law Walter DeMelle and his wife Susan, sister in-law Pamela DeMelle the wife of the late Arthur DeMelle, cousin and longtime traveling companions Donald Casavant and his wife Lynn, and many other cousins nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Tuesday October 23 at 10:00 A.M. from the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common, followed by a funeral mass in St Patrick's Church at 11:00 A.M.
Visiting hours are Monday from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M.
