Patrick Eugene Hoyt, 76, of Ventura, California passed away October 16, 2018 from a brief illness.
Patrick was born in Denver, Colorado to Milton and Gaby Hoyt on July 4, 1942, and moved to California in the 1950's. He attended grammar school at Holy Cross and graduated from Santa Clara High School in 1960. Patrick continued his education at Ventura Community College until he was drafted into the military in 1964. Patrick served two years active duty in the United States Army, including 6 months in Okinawa, Japan. Upon his return from Okinawa in 1966, he pursued a career as a heavy equipment master mechanic for the Operating Engineers Local 12 until his retirement in 2006.
Patrick is survived by his wife Marcia, his children Daniel, Jonathan and Gina, their spouses Deborah and Tom, grandchildren Kyle, Lucas, Samuel, Evan, Mason, Adam and Logan, brother John and sister Margaret, and sister-in-law, DeAnn. He will also be remembered by his nieces Stephanie and Ona, and nephews Brian, Travis, Paul and Aaron.
Family and friends are invited to visiting hours to be held Wednesday October 24, 2018 from 5 to 8pm in the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 757 E. Main Street Ventura, where a Vigil Service will be held at 6pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Thursday October 25, 2018 in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 10800 Henderson Road Ventura. Interment will follow in Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, 5400 Valentine Road Ventura, ending with a reception at the home of Pat and Marcia.
