Gracie Lee Stone Cooper, 97, of Tifton passed away Thursday, October 18, 2018, at Tift Regional Medical Center. A graveside service will be held for Mrs. Cooper at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 20, 2018, at Tift Memorial Gardens, where she will be laid to rest. The Rev. Brantley Seymour will officiate.
Born June 28, 1921, in Guin, Alabama, Mrs. Cooper was the daughter of the late Otis Dewey Stone and Josie Sivilla Williams Stone. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Howard Cooper, Sr.; six brothers; and three sisters. She was a farmer on the family farm and loved farming and flowers. She had lived in Tifton for 94 years.
Mrs. Cooper is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, W. H. Cooper Jr. (Cecile) of Cordele; one daughter and son-in-law, Betty Ruth Grimm (James) of Vero Beach, Florida; three grandchildren and their spouses, Christy G. Cooper (Kathy) of Tifton, Shannon M. Cooper (Kim) of Washington, D. C. and Jamie Grimm (Jennifer) of Kansas City, Missouri; and seven great-grandchildren, Austin Cooper, Dustin Cooper (Kristen), Connor Cooper, Dacey Cooper, Sidney Grimm, Griffin Grimm and London Grimm.
