Obituary

Worcester – Louis T. Minka, 86, of Auburn and formerly of South Yarmouth passed away peacefully exactly 5 years after his wife Joan A. (Gelber) Minka on Tuesday, October 16th in Saint Vincent Hospital with his family by his side.
Mr. Minka is predeceased by his wife Joan (the love of his life) of 58 years in 2013. Lou is survived by his four children, Theresa Jefferson and her husband, Paul of Sturbridge, MA, Thomas Minka and his wife, Beth of San Rafael, CA, Robert Minka and his wife, Kristy of Pleasant Hill, CA and Linda Krasnoo and her husband, Eric of Westfield (Princeton), NJ. He is also survived by a brother, Norman Minka of Worcester and his 8 cherished grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren as well as many nephews and nieces.
Mr. Minka was born in Worcester, son of the late Thomas and Theodora (Katro) Minka and is a graduate of both Worcester Junior College and Becker College. He worked for many years as a Certified Public Accountant as well as a controller for Bayer and Mingolla Construction Company in Millbury.
Lou was also a member of St. Mary’s Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church of Worcester, MA.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 21st from 5 PM - 7 PM at Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Hammond Street, Worcester. A funeral to celebrate his life will be held on Monday, October 22nd at 10 AM at Saint Mary’s Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church, 535 Salisbury Street, Worcester with viewing to begin at 9 AM in the church. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery, Worcester.
