John F. Giffune, Jr. age 51, of Woburn passed away unexpectedly at the Winchester Hospital on October 14, 2018. Born in Woburn he was the son of the late John F. and M. Lorraine (Lally) Giffune.
John was a lifelong resident of Woburn and was a 1986 graduate of Woburn High School. As a young boy he enjoyed playing baseball with his Spring Court Crew. John worked for many years as a landscaper with several local companies. He was an avid Boston sports fan and loved spending time outdoors, especially traveling to Lake Winnipesauke and to various destinations in Maine. He will fondly be remembered for always smoking his cigars and for his heart of gold and willingness to help others.
John was the loving companion of the late Lorie Dyer. He is survived by his children; Jenna Dyer of Malden, Rebecca Giffune of Lowell, Jessica Giffune and Joey Giffune both of Cape Cod. Grandfather of Ayanna and McKennah. Brother of Karen Giffune and her companion Domingo Ortiz, Susan Giffune of Florida, Lorrie Macdonald of Woburn, Nancy Carey and her husband Tom of Somerville, Alison Paige and her husband Daniel, Sr. of Woburn, Lisa DeCost and her husband Keith of Nashua, NH, and Diane McHugh of Middleton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to calling hours at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Friday, October, 19th, from 4 to 7 p.m. Services will conclude with a prayer service starting at 7 p.m.
