WESTPORT – Joseph F. Silvia, age 95 of Westport, passed away on October 13, 2018 at home with his loving family by his side. Born in Fall River, MA, he was the beloved husband of the late Adele (Peters) Silvia and the son of the late Frank F. & Maria C. Silvia. Prior to retiring, Joe worked as an Auto Body Repairman for various Auto Body Companies. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and an avid automobile enthusiast. Joe was also a lifetime member of the Watuppa Boat Club.
Survivors include his three daughters: Mona A. Mello (husband Gregory) of Westport, Debra A. St. Laurent (husband Robert) of Tiverton, and Darlene M. Martel (husband Gregory) of Fall River; two grandchildren: Karen Marie Carpenter (husband Robert) and David Joseph Mello; two great grandchildren: Xander Gregory Carpenter and Alyssa Simone Carpenter; many nieces & nephews. He was the brother of the late Manuel Silvia, Louise Levesque, Mary Pires, and Rose Paul.
Joseph’s daughters would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the family, friends, and caregivers that helped and supported them during this very difficult time.
Following cremation, a Memorial Mass will take place on SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 10, 2018 at 10:00 AM in ST. ANTHONY OF THE DESERT CATHOLIC CHURCH, 300 N. EASTERN AVE., FALL RIVER, MA.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River.
