Paul R. Matthews, age 77, was called safely home on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018 from the Jewish Nursing Home in Longmeadow. He was born on Jan. 25, 1941 in Springfield, a son of the late Robert and Antoinette (Desrosiers) Matthews. Paul worked as a truck driver for B+H Dispatch for many years before he retired. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 57 years, Beryl Louise (Gosselin) Matthews. He is survived by his 3 loving daughters, Linda Tucker and her husband Scott of Springfield, Laurie Dearborn of Springfield and Carolyn Brodeur and her husband Michael of Fredericksburg, VA; 2 brothers, Richard Matthews and his wife Paula of TX, Charles Matthews and his wife Sue Ann of West Springfield; 4 sisters, Roberta McGrath and her husband Richard of OH, Joan Acevedo and her husband Nelson of FL, Ann Brown of Springfield and Susan Matthews of West Springfield; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his brother Bruce Matthews. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2018 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee.
