DARTMOUTH – Maria Olivia (Simoes) Cosquete, 90 of Dartmouth & formerly of Fall River, passed away Sunday, Oct. 14th. Born in Lisbon, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Virginia (Carneiro) Cosquete & the wife of the late Manuel Pereira Cosquete and the late Luis Mateus. Prior to retiring, Maria worked as a sewing machine operator for Stella-Ann Frocks and was a parishioner of Espirito Santo Church.
She is survived by her son: Joseph Mateus (wife Eileen) of Westport; a half-brother: Alberto Cosquete of Portugal; grandsons: Brian Mateus & Jeffrey Mateus (wife Bethany); great grandchildren: Caitlin & Hunter Mateus; nieces & nephews.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Wednesday, Oct. 17th here at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Espirito Santo Church at 9:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
