Gordon G. Costa, Sr., 81, of Dartmouth, passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at home. He was the husband of Helen M. (DeCosta) Costa, they shared 57 years of marriage.
Mr. Costa was born in New Bedford, son of the late John J. and Isabelle (Furtado) Costa and had been a longtime resident of Dartmouth. He worked at Chamberlain Manufacturing Corp., New Bedford for 16 years and retired from Quaker Fabric Corp., Fall River. He was a member of the Rod & Gun Club of New Bedford and Brothers of the Brush from 1964-2014. Mr. Costa was a Town Meeting member and worked the polls. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved spending time with his family and beloved animals.
Survivors along with his wife include his son: Gordon G. Costa, Jr. of Westport; his daughter: Pamela R. Costa and her husband Donald Soares of Westport; a brother: John J. Costa, Jr. and his wife Rose of New Bedford; 3 grandchildren: Nicole, Benjamin and Emily; a great granddaughter: Juliana; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at the Potter Funeral Home at 7:30 P.M.
Memorial visitation will be from 5-7:30 P.M., prior to the service.
Interment will be private.
