TEWKSBURY - Mr. George Kuzirian Sr., age 87, died unexpectedly Saturday evening, October 13, at Lowell General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Joan R. (Armstrong) Kuzirian, with whom he had celebrated a sixty-fifth wedding anniversary this past April 26th.
George was born in Boston in April 1931, and raised in Roxbury. After his marriage, they lived in Chelsea, and in 1961, moved to Tewksbury to raise their family. He was a member of St. Dorothy’s parish community.
George served in the Massachusetts National Guard for thirteen years.
He worked as an offset pressman , and retired from United Lithograph company in Somerville.
In his late years, he and Joan were frequent visitors to the Tewksbury Senior center, attended most dances, and enjoyed Ballroom dancing together. He was accomplished at horseshoes, but his favorite leisure-time activity was spending time with his family, especially his grand and great grandchildren.
Besides his wife, he leaves four children, Joan Raposo of Dracut, Susan Amarante of Dracut, George Kuzirian Jr. of Kingston, NH, Doreen True and her husband William True III of Lowell; eight grandchildren, Sherry Raposo, Nicole Hynes, Scott Hynes, Jessy Kuzirian, Kyle Kuzirian, Jeffrey Kuzirian, William True IV, and Alicia True; nine great grandchildren; a sister Lucille Kuzirian of CA; and was predeceased by a son, John Kuzirian and sister Goldie Minasian.
Visiting hours Thursday, Oct. 18, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte. 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, Ph. (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950. His funeral will begin Friday at 11:00 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:00 Noon in St. Dorothy’s Church, corner of Harndon and Main Sts. (Rte. 38) Wilmington. Burial will be in Tewksbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverly oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452 will be appreciated.
