Elia R. Farinella, 99

Elia R. (Ferri) Farinella, age 99, a lifelong resident of Mansfield, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Atria in Franklin. She was the beloved wife of the late Santino C. Farinella, to whom she was wed for thirty-nine years at the time of his death in 1980.
Born in Mansfield, MA on September 11, 1919, she was a loving daughter of the late Fulvio and Emilia (Albertini) Ferri.
Elia grew up in Mansfield and was a 1937 graduate of Mansfield High School. She was a dedicated homemaker to her adoring family and had also worked at Sannie’s, a former landmark business on North Main St., operated by the Farinella family in Mansfield for many years.
Elia’s family was truly the focal point of her life. She especially loved summers spent with her family at Humarock Beach in Scituate since 1951.
She is survived by her devoted children: Roberta N. Fiore and her husband Raymond of Mansfield, Judith A. Smith of New Jersey, Wilma Carroll and her husband James of Marshfield, and Jeffrey C. Farinella and his wife Kristan of Marshfield. She was the dear sister of Jeannette Ferri of Westport and is also survived by many generations of loving grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, October 16th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
Burial will take place on Wednesday, October 17th at 11:30 A.M. at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.
