Obituary

Laure C. LaBarre, 108, died Wednesday evening at Heritage Hills Nursing Center in Smithfield.
Born and raised in Woonsocket she was a daughter of the late Adelard and Alphonsine (Brasseur) LaBarre. She was a lifelong resident of the city.
Laure was employed in the local textile industry at several area mills including Bonte Spinning.
Laure liked to go dancing. She was a quiet woman whose life centered around her family, including caring for her parents in their later years.
As a lady whose life spanned well over a century Laure was recognized by the State of Rhode Island at a gathering celebrating those who have reached the milestone. The events and changes in the world that Laure witnessed over the last 108 years are truly remarkable.
She was the sister of the late Wilbard, Herve, Rene and Armand LaBarre and is survived by many nieces and nephews and several generations of their families.
Her funeral will be Monday at 10:00 am from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in Precious Blood Church, Carrington Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Precious Blood Cemetery. Visiting hours are Sunday from 4-6 pm.
