Obituary

On October 1, 2018 Robert “Bob” Werner Johnson was joyfully released of his earthly ties as the early light of the new mornings dawn emerged Bob set forth on a new adventure with a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eyes. He was born on February 5, 1945 to Werner and Lucille (Howe) Johnson in Seattle. After graduating from Grandview High School he enlisted in the US Navy on December 19, 1963 for four years. He was assigned to the USS Coral Sea from May 27, 1964 to May 23, 1966. Bob returned to the lower Yakima Valley where he lived all his life. He called Prosser home where he loved visiting with his friends in town. All who knew Bob loved him.

Bob was a musically gifted man who could play almost any instrument. He was part of several bands in junior and senior high school and even made a 45 record with the group, “The Nomads”. He was also an artist and lived an artistic life. He was creative and challenged conformity and broke artistic boundaries in his self-expression. He inspired new ways of being and thinking. He enjoyed photography, movie making, drawing and painting. He also loved nature and traveling to the beach and Disneyland. Most of all Bob loved spending time with his family on vacations, picnics in Columbia Park and holiday gatherings playing games.

Bob is survived by his sisters, Connie Carpino of The Dalles, OR and Dora Hogue (Mike) of Prosser; nieces, Lorie Hull (Roger), Chantelle Wisner (Randy) and Jennifer Carpino; nephews, Zachary Carpino (Denielle) and Riley Hogue; great-nieces, Amie Ell (Austin) and Brittny Smith; great-nephews, Mathew Wisner (Shannon) and Kyle Wisner; great-great-nieces, Emma Ell, Myah Ell and Lucy Fisher; and great-great-nephews, True Smith and Reid Wisner.
