FALL RIVER – Gilberta (Barbosa) Faria, age 87 of Fall River, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2018 at Catholic Memorial Home with her loving family by her side. Born in Capelas, São Miguel, Açores, she was the daughter of the late Edmundo & Alexandrina (Sousa) Barbosa and the wife of the late Jose Bernardo Faria.
Gilberta was a parishioner of Good Shepherd Parish and loved taking care of her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Angelina Pereira (Jose Eduardo) of Fall River, Antonio Faria (Ana) of Somerset, John Faria (Maria) of Fall River, & Victor Faria (Maria) of Fall River; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. She was the sister of the late Francelina Furtado, Maria Helena Roque, & Moises Barbosa.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River on Friday, Oct. 12th with visitation from 8:30-10:15 A.M., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Good Shepherd Parish at 11:00 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. www.rogersfuneral.com.
