SWANSEA – Louis Almeida, age 90 of Swansea, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Lorraine (Hanley) Almeida and the son of the late Sarephine & Theresa (Costa) Almeida. Prior to retiring, Louis worked for Tremblay Bus Co. as a school bus driver. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II, an avid N.E. Patriots & Boston Red Sox Fan, and enjoyed spending time with his friends at the Swansea Senior Center.
He is survived by his daughter: Deborah Graham (husband Bob) of Swansea; son in law: Peyton Rapoza of Swansea; his two granddaughters: Cheri D’Antuono & Krystal Rapoza; nieces & nephews. He was the father of the late Sandra Ann Rapoza and Patricia Ann Almeida and the brother of the late Constance Corvello & Dorothy Almeida.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Friday at 7:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Dominic’s Church, Swansea at 9:00 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours on Thursday 5-8 P.M.
