Warren E. Armstrong, 91

Dateline: Norton, MA

Warren E. Armstrong, age 91, of Norton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Hope Hospice and Palliative Care in Providence. He was the beloved husband of Emma F. (McNeil) Armstrong.

Warren grew up in East Dedham and was a 1945 graduate of Dedham High School. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy during WWII.

After studying at Perdue University, Mr. Armstrong was employed as a portrait photographer which led to his career as a lithographer at Color Picture Publishers. He later retired from Camera Graphics in Burlington. In his retirement years he enjoyed keeping busy with many part time projects.

Warren’s family was by far the most important part of his life. He loved music, whistling, singing and entertaining children with magic tricks. His hobbies included golfing, international traveling, adventure, nature and he’ll always be remembered for his love of animals. He had made his home in Norton for the past forty-nine years and attended the Chartley United Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his devoted children: Doug Armstrong of California, Linda Mellen and her husband Jim of Dedham, Janet Kelly and her husband Jez of Bellingham, Betsy Rogers of Taunton, Wanda Ferilli and her husband Antonio of Switzerland, and Glenn Armstrong and his wife Misti of Attleboro. He was the dear brother of the late George Armstrong, Robert Armstrong and Marjorie Holmes. He was the former husband of the late Elizabeth (Hunt) Armstrong and is also survived by many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a service in celebration of his life on Saturday, October 13th at 11:00 in the Trinitarian Congregational Church, East Main and Pine Streets, Norton.

Burial will be private and visiting hours have been omitted.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Warren’s memory may be made to the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904.
