Robert E. King “Bobby” , 68 of South Boston, passed away on October 4, 2018.
He is the beloved husband of Joanne King. Son of the late Joe and Kate King of South Boston. Survived by his children Kelly Fichtner of Rockland, Katherine (Jeanie) & Jamie Orsino of Stoneham, Robin & Mike Bleeheen of Holbrook, Bobby & Robin “in law” King of Weymouth, Jimmy & Jennaire King of Dorchester, Kasey King & John Forlizzi of Belmont and the late Matthew King of South Boston.
Loving Grandfather to Krystie, McKinley & Riley Fichtner. Alex, Michaela & Dominic Orsino. Stephen & Courtney Foley. Kason, Katherine & Kaeden King. Colby, Tallan, Brody & Brynley King. Cullan Sarmiento and Great grandson Jack Foley.
Brother of Marilyn & Mike McDonough of Cape Cod and the late Joseph (Gerald) King, Katherine (Jeanie) King, Ronald (Ronnie) King and cousin to the late Sissy Greene. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Bobby was a proud lifelong South Boston resident. He retired after 35 years with the Boston Housing Authority as a member of the Laborer’s Union.
Visiting Hours will be held at Casper Funeral Home located at 187 Dorchester Street in South Boston on Monday, October 8 4-7 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Monica’s Church in South Boston on Tuesday, October 9 at 10 AM followed by interment at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
