Obituary

GORHAM/LIMERICK- Arnold W. Quint, age 81, passed away on Oct. 2, 2018 at his home in Limerick, with family at his side.
He was born in Gorham on June 7, 1937, a son of the late Arthur and Erdine (Demers) Quint and was a graduate of Gorham High School. Arnold later graduated from the Culinary Institute of America.
Besides his love of family, Arnold will always be remembered for his dedication to community service.
He was a longtime member of the Gorham Jaycees and helped staff Maine Special Olympic functions. It was at a Special Olympics function that he had the honor to chauffer Mrs. Rose Kennedy to the Holiday Inn. Arnold was also very active with the Gorham Lions Club, where he served as a chef, auctioneer, and President for multiple terms. Because of his dedication to the Lions Club, he received the prestigious Melvin Jones Fellowship Award from the Lions International Foundation for Humanitarian Services.
He was employed as a painting contractor for over 40 years and was known for the cliché “Here comes Arnie” on the front of his truck.
He was married to his wife Norma (Nealey) Quint for 46+ years. Over the years they travelled extensively together. Although they were lifetime “Gorhamites,” they build their dream home in Limerick and moved there in 2015.
He is survived by his beloved wife- Norma; his in-laws- Doreen Nealey and her fiancé Stephen Rogers, Mark Nealey and his wife Brenda, Gary Nealey and his wife Angie, Peter Nealey, and Dale Nealey and his wife Stacy; as well as many nieces and nephews.
At his request, there will be no funeral.
Arnold’s family would like to thank Dr. Courtney, Dr. Rosenblatt, Dr. Evans, Dr. Gorman, Dr. Agren, and their staff for years of ongoing medical support. A huge thank you also goes out to Home Health Care of Southern Maine and to VNA Hospice – especially Liz for her support, compassion and comfort she provided.
