Stephanie Marie Whooten 27, of Franklin, MA, passed away at home surrounded by family to colon cancer on Friday September 21, 2018. She was the beloved wife of Steven R. DiLauro.
Facing a terminal illness at just 25, she did not let that hold her back from embracing life to the fullest and amazing all who knew her.
Born April 9, 1991 in Wareham, she was the daughter of Wellesley Whooten of Assonet and Joan Barrett of Stoughton. In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by a sister Marsea Whooten and her husband Ryan McGonagle of Framingham, a brother, Colin Whooten and his wife Rachel of Somerville, a niece Sophie Whooten, and her father’s partner Katie Gilfeather. She also leaves her cherished dog “Jax”.
She was raised in Norton and was a 2009 graduate of Bishop Feehan High School in Attleboro. She then continued her education at Assumption College in Worcester and graduated with a double major in economics and accounting in 2013. Stephanie was employed at Wayfair as a finance manager.
She enjoyed creating furniture, volleyball, and traveling the world with her husband, family, and friends. She will always be remembered for helping others, her sense of humor, and a smile that lit up the room.
