Obituary

Sean M. Flaherty 41, of Bellingham, died suddenly, Thursday September 20, 2018. Sean was a sensitive, kind and genuine person. He was generous even when he had little to give, and had a great big heart. Over the years Sean had struggled with Substance Use Disorder which had led to health complications.

Born November 10, 1976 in Framingham, a son of Louise L. (Ceccarelli) Flaherty of Franklin and Michael G. Flaherty and his wife Michelle of Naples, Florida, he was a former longtime resident of Franklin before moving to Bellingham.

He was raised and educated in Franklin Public Schools and attended ITT Technical Institute. Sean worked as a laborer in the construction industry.

Sean was a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He enjoyed music, fishing, hiking and always being outdoors. He was a fan of the New England Patriots. Sean loved music and had played the drums in his earlier years. He enjoyed movies, and quiet times. He was skilled in all aspects of construction and was passionate about technology.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sisters, Danielle M. Flaherty of Marlboro, Lisa J. Griffen of Franklin, Kerrie A. Dellamano of Franklin and Jamie L.F. van Buren and her husband Martin of Franklin.
Sean was the best uncle to his cherished nieces & nephews, Morgan and Meghan Griffen, Derek, Ryan, Haley and Ashley Dellamano and Brody, Crosby and Macey van Buren. He is also survived by his godparents Kate and David Ceccarelli of South Yarmouth, and his longtime partner & love of his life Amy Nisil, her children Tony, Amanda, and Melissa, and their family, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, neighbors and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Friday Sept. 28th, at 11AM in the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St.

Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Franklin.

Calling hours are Friday from 9-11AM.
