William D. Shotwell, of Medford died on Monday, September 17th. He was 89. Born and raised in Medford, he was the son of the late John and Jennie (Santalucido) Shotwell.
Bill was an excellent mechanic. He enjoyed working on various different types of automobiles. His true calling would be to become an auto mechanic teacher for Medford Vocational Technical High School. He loved to teach and established many lifelong relationships with his students.
When Bill was not working he loved to spend time on the water. He loved all water sports water skiing, boating and sailing. A true natural photographer he donated his talent to many family members weddings, birthdays and events. An avid collector of any new contraption, if Bill saw it advertised on TV he bought it, it could have been anything from a microwave to video game consoles, whatever it was you would be there to help set it up and try it out.
William was the beloved husband of Louise (Frongillo) Shotwell of Medford, and the late Lila M. (Carbon) Shotwell. He was the devoted father of Lou Shotwell and his wife Kim of Malden, Louise Loguidice of Haverhill and Lila Mazzola and her husband Peter of Derry, NH., the loving grandfather of Alicia, Michael, Paige, Rick, Dave, Janine, Matt, Michael, Nicholas and the late Peter, loving great grandfather of Alex. Bill's family would like to send a special thanks to the staff at the Graystone Farm and Compassus Hospice.
A funeral service will be celebrated in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, on Wednesday, September 26th at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family from 9 - 11 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
