Obituary

Patricia Jean “Pat” Chambless Walker, 67, and Edgar “Wayne” Walker, Sr., 64, of Adel passed away Saturday, September 15, 2018, in Adel. Their funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2018, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Joseph L. Crumley and the Rev. Rickey Wells officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Walker will be laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday, September 17, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Jason Claunch, Alton Benefield, Bradley Spires, Conner Hillard, Chance Greene and Robert “Buster” Wolfe will serve as pallbearers for Mr. Walker.

Mason McFadden, Mac McFadden, Justin Campbell, Ches Chambless, Cruz Chambless and Wade Boutwell will serve as pallbearers for Mrs. Walker.

Honorary pallbearers for Mr. and Mrs. Walker will be Travis, Wayne, Gene, Luke, Jake, Kaleb, Klay and Leonard Chambless.

Mr. Walker was born August 18, 1954 in Tift County and was the son of the late Edgar Bruce Walker and Carrie Mae Fogarty Walker. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Jean “Pat” Chambless Walker; one brother, Larry Bazil Walker; and two sisters, Ermalean Claunch and Jeanette Baker. He was a retired truck driver and a member of Omega Church of God.

Mrs. Walker was born July 17, 1951 in Tift County and was the daughter of the late Rev. L. J. Chambless and Betty Jean Mason Chambless. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edgar “Wayne” Walker, Sr.; and one sister, Alice Joan Chambless Wilson. She had worked in textiles at Avondale Mills and at other various jobs. She was a member of Omega Church of God.

They loved yard sales, going to flea markets, going to church and watching grandbabies, They had been married for 34 years. One daughter, Brittany McCall Walker, preceded them in death.

Mr. and Mrs. Walker are survived by their children and their spouses, Travis and LaDonna Sutton of Cecil, Angie and Andy Ward of Blackshear, Traci Sutton Ward of Sparks, Melissa Walker Dill and Brittany Castleberry of Williston, South Carolina, Wayne Jr. and Melissa Walker of Sylvester, Dawn Walker and Brian Raper and Brooke Walker and Barry Morgan, all of Adel; 20 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition, Mr. Walker is survived by three sisters, Genevieve Love of Lakeland, Florida, Joy Walker Moore of Sparks and Shirley Ann Walker of Omega.

Mrs. Walker is also survived by one brother, Leonard Chambless of Tifton.
