Wetona “Toni” Roberts Wright, 94, of Tifton passed away Saturday, September 1, 2018, at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2018, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Robby Paulk officiating. Mrs. Wright will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 4, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Wright’s grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Born May 18, 1924 in Berrien County, Mrs. Wright was the daughter of the late Daniel Roberts and Rebecca Mobley Roberts. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, John “Dockie” Allen; her second husband, Sgt. Woodard “Jerome” Wright, Jr.; four brothers, M. F. Roberts, Winston Roberts, Wilson Roberts and J. P. Roberts; and one sister, Wilma Lott. She was a homemaker, but had previously worked as the manager of the Hallmark Gift Shop. She was a member of Tifton’s First United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Tifton Garden Club and the Elks Auxiliary.
Mrs. Wright enjoyed gardening and traveling. Due to her husband’s career in the Army, she was able to travel abroad extensively and enjoyed sharing stories of her travels with friends and family. She loved to cook and was very interested in fashion. She was known to many that loved her for her great sense of style and taste.
Mrs. Wright is survived by two daughters, Deborah Wright of Tifton and JoAnn Allen of Brunswick; four grandchildren and their spouses, Dara and Bill Holt of Valdosta, John and Stacie Donaldson of Omega and Mary and Russ Underwood of Destin, Florida; six great-grandchildren, William and Wesley Holt, Ashley Spurlin, Blake Underwood and Kaytee and Sam Donaldson; and one sister, Grace Melton of Batesville, Arkansas.
