Obituary

Millard M. “Bubba” Williams Jr., 75, of Derry, NH, passed away Friday August 24, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 30, 1943 in San Antonio, TX, a son of the late Millard M. Sr. and Mildred (Fohn) Williams. Bubba grew up in San Antonio, TX and began his career in telecommunications with Western Electric. He then enlisted in the Marines where he proudly served his country in Vietnam. Upon his return to the States, he resumed working for Western Electric and continued working for them through the transition to AT & T, and finally Lucent Technologies. He traveled extensively for work before coming to New Hampshire and falling in love with the area. He and his soulmate Jo An relocated to Derry in the early 1980’s. Sadly, Jo An passed away in 1990 in the home they made together. Bubba was fiercely independent, and when he retired after 36 years he felt very strongly to live out the rest of his days at home, something he was able to do thanks in large part to the wonderful neighbors and friends he has. Bubba appreciated a game of dominoes or cards, loved the water, fishing and seeing the tall ships. He loved his cat Sassy and also enjoyed feeding all the outdoor animals near his house, including the birds, stray cats, and the occasional raccoon, opossum, and skunk. He was an avid reader who also liked to read maps from different regions. He also enjoyed country music, Mexican food, blueberry pie and ginger ale.

He is survived by his children, Dwayne M. Williams of AZ, Deborah Williams Salinas of TX, Terry Rasco and husband Jimmy of TX, Carolyn Williams and partner Don Trent of TX, and Sharon Tappan and husband Roger of CO, his grandchildren, Sean Salinas, Jason Rasco, Lisa Rasco, Ashley Trent, Sarah Hulce and husband Shawn, Amy Seidensticker and husband Brogan, and Robert Tappan; several great grandchildren, nephew George Stich and wife Gayle, as well as many wonderful extended family and neighbors.

Following cremation, he will be laid to rest with his beloved wife Jo Ann Williams in San Antonio, TX at a date in the future. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
