Obituary


BUXTON- Thomas “Tommy” E. Kennie, age 48, Public Works Director for the Town of Buxton, passed away on Aug. 23, 2018 at Maine Medical Center with his family at his side after a brief battle with cancer.

He was born on Aug. 18, 1970, a son of the late Malcolm Sr. and Joyce (Ford) Kennie.

He will always be remembered for his love of his family and the outdoors.

Tommy was an active member of the Shriners and Buxton Masonic Lodge #115 AF & AM and enjoyed playing Santa every year at different functions.

He is survived by his beloved wife- Kim (Leighton) Kennie; his daughter Amanda Rose Kennie of Buxton; and siblings- Debbie Ricker, Malcolm “Mac” Kennie, Brenda Roberge, Beth Kennie, John Kennie, Karen Kennie, Ted Kennie, Jerry Kennie, Philip Kennie and Cindy Galo; and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday Aug. 30 from 4 – 8 PM at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road (Rt. 22) Buxton. At the conclusion of the visiting hours at 8 PM, Masonic Honors will be performed. A private funeral will be held at the funeral home on Friday with burial to follow at South Buxton (Tory Hill) Cemetery.
