Sandra Turk Fussell, 64, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Saturday, August 18, 2018, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at The Paulk Funeral Home in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Gene Force officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Fussell was born November 25, 1953, in Jesup, Georgia to the late Rudolph Benjamin “Rudy” & Louise Blocker “MamaLou” Turk. She graduated high school and attended college in Eufaula, Alabama. She was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church where she played on the church softball team. She played volleyball with the DLS also. Mrs. Fussell worked in accounting and bookkeeping for Waldron Industries for over 40 years, most recently at Lark Manufacturing in Douglas. She was passionate about animals, especially dogs and cats, and loved working with horses and fishing. She enjoyed spending time with her boys and granddaughter, playing Candy Crush, as well as knitting and crocheting.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Harris Fussell of Fitzgerald; two sons: Chris & Meegan Fussell and Ashley & Kerra Fussell, all of Fitzgerald; a granddaughter, Grace; two brothers: Gene & Naomi Force of Jacksonville, Florida and Ben Turk, Jr. of Columbus, Georgia; and two sisters: Susan & Bobby Paulk of Ocilla and Pam & Larry Glover of Columbus, Mississippi. She is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her poodle, Sweetie.
