Obituary

WEBSTER – Lorraine B. (Sauvageau) Kokernak, 82, died Friday, August 17, 2018 in Harrington Healthcare at Hubbard surrounded by her loving family.

She leaves her husband of 63 years, Robert S. Kokernak; a son, Gary R. Kokernak and his wife Christine of Dudley; a daughter, Kim B. Fafard of Webster; 3 grandsons, Tyler Kokernak, Drew Kokernak and Ian Fafard; a great-grandson, Nathan Fafard; 2 brothers, Donald Sauvageau and his wife Dory of Belchertown, and Wilfred Sauvageau, Jr. and his wife Marge of Canterbury, CT; 2 sisters, Camille Wilson and her husband Kenny of Dudley, and Jeannine Beaudreault of Webster; and several nieces and nephews.

She was born in Marlborough and raised in Spencer, the oldest child of Wilfred Sauvageau, Sr. and Madeline (Torrey) Sauvageau. She moved to Webster when she married in 1955.

Mrs. Kokernak was a self-employed housekeeper for several years, retiring in 1997.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Oxford. She enjoyed baking, watching cooking shows and writing personal notes on letters and cards. Her grandchildren and great-grandson were the highlights of her life.

No funeral services are planned. Donations in her name may be made to St. Vincent Cancer and Wellness Center, 1 Eaton Place, Worcester, MA 01608. Arrangements are under the direction of Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, Webster.
