Obituary

Rose M. (Kiley) Sheehan of Bourne, Massachusetts (formerly of Wellesley) died peacefully on August 17, 2018 on Cape Cod. Beloved wife of Robert D. Sheehan, Sr. for 63 loving years.

Rose, daughter of Daniel and Maude (MacDonald) Kiley was born in Rockland, Maine on April 19, 1933 and raised in Somerville, Massachusetts. Rose was an avid reader, lifelong learner, passionate Red Sox fan, and was fortunate to enjoy world-wide travel and summers and sunsets with her family and friends in Maine and Buttermilk Bay, Cape Cod, where she has resided since 2007. Rose was involved in numerous organizations including St. John’s Book Club, Sheridan Hills Association, and the Wellesley Schools PTA, and her children’s numerous sporting event and activities.

Rose is survived by her children, daughter Rosemary (Sheehan) and husband Eric Morse of Needham, son Robert D. Sheehan, Jr of Bedminster, NJ, daughter Regina (Sheehan) and husband Paul Leonard of Westwood, and son Richard and wife Solveig Sheehan of Weymouth; and her beloved grandchildren Daggett, Elizabeth, and Sarah Morse; Catherine, Michael, and Caroline Leonard; Daniel Robert Sheehan; and Kiley and Meghan Sheehan. Sister of Daniel Kiley of West Dennis, Katherine Keizer and Carol Kiley both of Watertown, the late Elizabeth Hauswirth of Watertown and Thomas Kiley of Waltham. She is also survived by loving nieces and nephews of the Sheehan, Kiley, Hauswirth, Keizer, and Fraser families. In addition, we would like to acknowledge caretakers Dr. Erin Malone of Lahey Hospital & Medical Center and Jennifer McDonald for their many years of friendship and compassionate care and also the staff at Hope Health-McCarthy Care Center.

Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St., (Rt.16) WELLESLEY, Friday, Aug. 24 at 10am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church, Wellesley Hills at 11am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours at the funeral home Thursday, Aug. 23 from 4-8pm. A private interment will be at a later date in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Needham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Department of General Internal Medicine Funds, c/o Philanthropy at Lahey Clinic, 41 Mall Road Burlington, MA.
