Obituary

Wesley I. Park, a life-long resident of Somerville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford. He was 82.

Born in Somerville, he was the son of the late Samuel and Janet (Milly) Park and attended local schools.

Wesley spent his career working for the City of Somerville with the Department of Public Works and retired in 2005. Following his retirement, Wesley enjoyed being with his family and friends. In his spare time, Wesley liked to bowl and have his morning coffee at the Tufts Market with his buddies. An animal lover, Wesley enjoyed riding horses and adopting pets. He and his wife, Janice, spent many of their summers vacationing to their cottage in Wareham and going out on their boat on Cape Cod.

Wesley was the beloved husband of Janice A. (Mancusi) Park. The two married on June 4, 1972 at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Medford. Together they shared 46 loving years of marriage. He was the devoted father of Dina A. Matsas and her husband James, and the loving grandfather Krystal A., Amber M. and Charles W. Matsas, all of Tewksbury. Wesley was preceded in death by his 15 siblings and also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be conducted in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street, Medford on Wednesday, August 29th at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family from 9 through 11 AM. At the family's request, interment will be held privately.
