Richard H. (Richie) Silva (71) of Brockton died August 16th in the Good Samaritan Medical Center after injuries sustained while peacefully riding his motorcycle and tragically being hit in Bridgewater. He is survived by his loving wife Michele (Charland) Silva.
He was born in Brockton son of the late Alice Silva and Howard Russell Doane. Richie was a US Army Veteran serving in the Vietnam conflict and retired from the City of Brockton as maintenance foreman. He was a member of Club National, Bertocci Club, VFW Post #1046, and the 49'ers Club. Richie enjoyed riding his Indian and Harley motorcycles, driving his 1931 Model A, clamming , fishing, going to the beach and was known as a outstanding craftsman.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a son Richard F. Almeida of Brockton, his brother Russell G. Silva of Middleboro, 4 sisters, Phyllis Foster and Anita L. Doane both of New Bedford, Millie Skahan of Taunton and Pat Jackson of Arkansas, also his granddaughter Alexandria Almeida of Brockton. Several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services in the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel 238 Court Street Brockton Thursday August 23rd at 10 am with Rev. "Flathead Tom" Iddings officiating. Final Run will follow to Melrose Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday August 22nd from 4-8 pm.
