Ronald M. Pion, 71, of New Bedford passed away suddenly on Friday August 10, 2018. He was the husband of Claire J. (Cabral) Pion.
Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Roland and Florence (Cormier) Pion.
Ron was formerly employed as a foreman at My Bread Baking Company until his retirement. He was currently working for Places to Go Transportation.
He is survived by his wife Claire; two sons, Michael Pion of New Bedford and Christopher Pion and his wife Heather of Somerset; a brother, Robert Pion and his wife Elaine of Acton; his grandchildren, Kalynne and Nathan Pion and their mother Kara Sousa of Taunton, and Adain Joubert and Ruby Pion of Somerset; his brother-in-law, Gilbert Cabral and his wife Dorothy of Acushnet; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
His Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday August 20, 2018 at 11 AM at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Humane Society - Southcoast. Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, or the American Cancer Society.
