Maria Rosa (Vasconcelos) Miranda, 93, of N. Dartmouth passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 15, 2018 at home surrounded by her family after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Jose Pacheco Miranda.
Born in Pico Vermelho, Ajuda da Bretanha, on the island of Sao Miguel, Acores, she was the daughter of the late Luis and Maria Mariquinhas (Melo) Vasconcelos. She worked in the garment industry as a seamstress and a sample maker until her retirement. She also worked with her daughter Gilda for twenty years at Gilda's Alterations. She enjoyed traveling to her second home in the Acores, cooking for her family and attending church on a daily basis.
Maria was the mother of Silvestre Miranda (wife Donna), Gilda Laberge (husband Terry), John Miranda (companion Pat) and Dovalina Rego (husband Joe). She was sister of Gilda Ferreira, Helena Goncalves and the late Luis Vasconcelos. She also leaves many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Maria will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved her.
Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Espirto Santo Church, 311 Alden St., Fall River at 9:00 AM.
Calling hours Friday 5 - 8 PM. at the Potter Funeral Home.
Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Dartmouth.
