Obituary

LOOMER, Fred Lee Jr. passed away suddenly on August 8, 2018. Fred is the loving husband of Mary T.H. (Claffey), they were blessed with over 21 years of a beautiful marriage.

Fred is the loving son of Ann Marie (Schneider) and the late Fred Lee Loomer, Sr. Loving Brother of Gail and her husband Paul Topham, Ann Marie (Re) and her husband Dana Fernald, Beth and her husband Bob Runco, Kristine Loomer and Rory Drolet, and the late Sandy and her surviving husband John Hill.

Loving Brother in law of Sharon Claffey Kaliouby and her husband Amr, Charles H. Claffey, Jr and his wife Anita, and Helen and her husband Eric, and the loving son-in-law of the late Mary T. Claffey.

Fred is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and two great, great nieces and two great, great nephews and many dear friends. Fred loved being an Uncle and cherished time with all of the kids.

Fred grew up in Randolph, MA, attended Randolph schools and graduated from Blue Hills Regional Vocational School. Upon graduation he started what would be a 40 year work career in Sheet Metal. Fred went to work right away at Commercial Sheet Metal in South Boston and then Canton where he worked for 32 1/2 years until the company closed. Fred then went on to his current employer for the past 7 1/2 years, GTR Manufacturing in Brockton, MA, where he enjoyed and valued his work and colleagues.

Many say that Fred touched numerous lives and enjoyed life to the fullest! He was a true Boston sports fan and enjoyed traveling to see the Boston Red Sox and checking out new Ball Parks. He also loved cheering on the New England Patriots and the Boston Bruins with family and friends.

Visiting hours at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home 456 High St. Dedham on Wednesday, August 15th from 4-8pm. Funeral from the funeral home on Thursday, August 16th at 10am, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Dedham at 11am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
